Editorial Review: Amazon.co.uk: Baby Einstein: Language Nursery is from the award-winning infant-developmental media company of the same name, whose goal and philosophy is the satisfaction of a child's curiosity through sight and sound. In the main "Theatre" section of this disc you'll find lots of simple shapes, primary colours and favourite toys passing across the screen. Everything is accompanied by soothing and tinkling nursery-rhyme tunes. Every so often, a narrating female voice will move from English into another language--all of which is designed to expose your child to the wider world of languages. A video tutorial explains things just in case the parent is scratching their head as to what they're meant to do. It really is as simple as plonking junior down for half an hour to be colourfully distracted in a manner designed to educate as well as entertain. This is the simplest of the company's releases, making for an ideal introduction to what they're about.  Rating:  - rubbishA very disappointing purchase. Images/toys etc. are nowhere near as good as the others in this series. Agree is a rehash of other clips and some of the clips are so slow it is excruciating to watch! Rating: - Baby Einstein - language nurseryDisappointed with the choice of languages, eg too much hebrew and not enough french. Very surprised that arabic wasn't included to balance the hebrew. Considering that Mandarin is the most spoken language and will be even more widespread when our children have grown up I found its omission baffling. The clips accompanying the numbers one to twenty in different languages should also have been relevant (eg twenty objects) instead of random clips from previous DVDs. Ambitious project but needed ... We love many of the Baby Einstein range particularly Neptune, Beethoven and Newton but this one does not live up to the grade in my opinion. There are too many languages used too indiscriminately. My little boy has been watching it since he was 6 months old (now 20 months old) and is absolutely captivated by all of the different sounds and pictures. My husband is French and I am English and I'm sure that listening to words and phrases from other languages will help him become a true linguist in the future.
