Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - read it
After reading this book, im inlove with edward cullen! definitely worth reading. I couldn't put it down.

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - Twilight
Twilight

Like most reviewers I found this book by the hype in the media, Claiming Stephenie Meyer was the new J.K Rowland!

Sorry to disappointment anyone who is looking for Harry Potter replacement this book isn't it! If you're looking for a similar series to Harry Potter I would recommend trying the Artems Fowl Series or The Dark Materials by Philip Pullman.

The reason I say that Stephenie Meyer is not the new J.K Rowland is because Stephenie is nowhere in the same league as J.K! As far as comparisons go that has to be one of the worse! The only reason the Media has decided to compare these authors is the simple fact is both there book series have sold out and there target audience are Teenagers/Young Readers!

That's where the comparisons stop really as J.K's Harry Potter series maybe be aimed at young readers - Harry Potter is in fact can be enjoyed by Children, Teenagers and Adults! The Twilight Series I find is really directed at Teenagers and Teenage Girls in particular!

- Some Spoilers -

Enough of the comparisons without trying give the plot away (which I added isn't really much of one!) - The book involves around Bella and falling in love with a mysterious boy called Edward we later in the book find out his a vampire!

What's wrong with this book is that Bella is annoying as hell! And it's taken from her point of view and don't get me wrong I enjoy first point view reads!

But is Bella is self-loathing teenager ok I know everyone feels this way when there that young but she really is just annoying - I'm not pretty, why does Edward like me I'm not pretty, I'm clumsy, I'm full of flaws!- And this goes on and on!

And the worse thing is she moves to in with her dad's out of her own choice and complains about her dad and being there all the time! - We meant to believe she did this a selfless act so her mum can travel around the country with her husband to be!

I guess a lot of people like Bella but I just wanted to her to be happy for at least chapter or a page - she no substance at all compare to other authors first point of view characters!

The story itself at time is really boring we told every detail for Bella day like the moment she wakes up, to the food she cooks, the homework she has and the trips to the mall with her friends! And the e-mail she receives!

The only thing this girl like is Edward and she wines and pines for him all the time! And like most reviewers have said we are reminded on how gorgeous Edward is all the time! - Bella is a typical bunny boiler!

On to Edward - This is actually where I will give Stephenie Meyer some brownie points I actually like her originality on the vampire genre - I'm huge fan of vampire literature so I have read a few books on vampires and this is the first author to give a new spin on the genre!

I liked the Twilight vampires - they walk in the day and act like normal human beings - I love the concept of vegetarian vampires who don't suck human blood!

But saying this Edward is a very dry character and almost a psycho he always seems to be in the right time and the right place to rescue Bella! And also he always like at house in the morning and outside of gym to meet her all the time!

The plot is very lacking and does get better to near the end of the book - This book really feels like the author wrote this book for her own need and not for anyone else! J.K has spent years building up this brilliant plot for Harry Potter where the Twilight the plot is basically Bella's day!

The author would have been better not writing this book in first person point of view and this why I think J.K books are better because when Harry hasn't got a story-line J.K. focus on another character like Hermione and Ron etc and you grow to love these characters too!

Bella gets annoying like I said and I think the author should have narrated the story instead of reading Bella is cooking "whatever" for her dad we are reading about a different character - Like I would have like to read about Edward and his family when they go hunting! As they live of animal blood instead of human blood!

Overall this is book isn't all bad! I mean it was interesting enough to keep me reading and it was a nice easy-read! I have to admit that this book is not the most original I have to agree with a lot of what the other reviewers have said about this being a bit of Buff-Angel rip-off! Also I find the story is a lot like the "Nightworld Series" by J.L Smith!

The relationship is a lot like Buffy and Angel's but unlike Buffy/Angel there much more likeable and Edward is a bit of sap vampire too - he doesn't drink human blood and doesn't lose control! Even the character of Angel is more original a vampire with a soul and loose soul when him and Buffy sleep together as he has a true moment happiness - now that's a love story!

For a good vampire-human love story check out the Anita Blake series and Sookie Stackhouse series as this feature truly scary and sexy vampire lovers not at all like Edward!

If you are looking for a nice easy read book or a real teenage read with a supernatural twist this the perfect one! If you are looking for a Harry Potter replacement this is not it!

Rating: 2 out of 5 stars - twilight
I was so looking forward to reading this book, but to be honest I found it all a bit tedious until it got to page 328. I couldn't imagine Bella or Edward, having the conversations that they did and it really reminded me of some old Mills and Boon novel. I actually got quite annoyed at all the references to Edward's eyes, Bella's clumsiness and her continually feeling dizzy. On the whole I wouldn't say it isn't worth reading, the idea was brilliant but the characters just didn't make it believable, for me at any rate.Twilight (Twilight Saga)

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - surprisingly good
I didn't realise when I bought this book that it was aimed at the teen market, so I was initially disappointed when that became clear. However, it was a real page-turner and kept me up until the early hours to finish it. Through most of the book I didn't feel that I was too old for the book, apart from a few times when the main character's immaturity was glaringly obvious, particularly with her deep, very teenage feelings of love. But hey, we've all been there and it was quite nostalgic going back a (good) few years. All in all a satisfying read and I will be purchasing the sequels, perhaps using the excuse of checking how suitable they will be to be read by my young daughter.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Wow!
When my girl friends first told me about this book I was a little bit skeptical but I decided to give it a go. It just sounded like a cliche vampire-love story but from the moment my eyes fell on the first page i was hooked! Without a doubt one of best books I have ever read. The author writes in a way that makes you fall in love with the characters or hate them. I would recommend this book to anybody. Dont be scared to give it a go!
