My 6 month old loves this book. I think its the rhythm that keeps him so amused.

This book teaches the abc in a fun rhyming way that keeps both parent and baby interested to the end. (Better than the boring 'A is for Apple' stuff)
Also, the simple but bright pictures are perfect for young ones.

Its a shame it was written for the American audience because the end doesn't rhyme (We pronounce Z as 'Zed' not 'Zee') however, don't let this put you off its still brilliant!!!!

This book was one of the five that I most enjoyed reading to our four children when they were young. Upon rereading the book, I bgan to realize why I enjoyed it so much . . . as well as why they did.

Children begin with quite vivid imaginations, and education (and the socializing process) quickly discourage their imaginations in favor of coloring between the lines (following the conformist rules). Fox in Socks is a brilliant board for books and it is a book of crazy tongue twisters. It is a simple, sturdy book for babies of all ages (as it says on the back). Dr. Seuss is great if you want a laugh or you need some cheering up (although hit might frustrate you at times)!
