Ok, so it's got mirrors, but so have half the baby books on the market. It has no story or narrative, just a series of introductions to random characters with strange names. Why is the sun called Webster? Why does the cow not have a name?! My baby and I are not impressed!

Each time my baby reads this she is mesmerised. She loves following along with the words and then investigating the pictures. It is great to have a mix of drawings, photos and art to spark all areas of her mind. She totally understands HOW a book works because this one has been simple, short and entertaining enough to read together on many occasions.

I fell in love with this book on first sight, my four-year-old son has taken a little longer but now he loves it too.

It is a beautiful book - consisting of six nicely reproduced Van Gogh pictures each one based on a different colour (red, orange, yellow, green, blue and purple).

These books are a fantastic partner to the range of baby einstein videos. My daughter recognised quickly the characters. The pictures are bold and bright and grabbed her attention. The poems are catchty and engage my daughter. She has enjoyed looking for shapes in the pictures and I have pointed out the shape words in the text. A must for toddlers and parents.

Fantastic real images of a wide variety of animals with sections for your little one to touch to feel the different textures of the animals hide or fur.

For my 10-month-old daughter, this book is her favourite. She loves the illustrations which are the usual cheerful and colourful Baby Einsteins-style, with happy-looking cows, tigers, penguins and so on. What really does it for her, though, is an adult making the relevant animal noises (she giggled for the first time in her life to me buzzing like the bees in this book).

Even though the book is recommended for children 18 months +, I bought it for my 10-month-old and she loves this book!
There are four spreads in Baby MacDonald, each with an illustration of a farm and a different farm animal. The illustrations are a mixture of real-life photography and the usual Baby Einstein cartoon, so very vivid colours that are so attractive to babies. We bought several flashcard sets, and these were the winners. Yes, I agree with the other reviewers, it is disappointing that the cards are pictures of toys. However, once you're over that there are many pluses: eg these are ultimately photographs not drawings; the words and pictures are well separated so, once the words are recognised, you can cut them away from the pictures and play matching games; there are lots of suggestions on the back listing things you can do with your child to prompt discussion ...
