My sister had these books so i thought i'd read them. I really enjoyed them (especially harry's book with all the comments!) as they look at the history and beings of magical creatures and quidditch and liked the witty humour in them, which makes them perfect for both children and adults. I ended up buying the book pack myself and in this pack, a library card sticker comes with it, which is great to see who has borrowed these books from the library. Northern Lights is brilliant in almost every respect; fast-moving, well-written, imaginative. The Subtle Knife is almost as good, but begins to be diffuse. The Amber Spyglass is, frankly, rubbish. I queued up for this book on the 15th of July 2005, and it was worth it. This book is definitely one of my favourite Harry Potters, along with COS, GOF and DH.
There was so much going on, unlike OOTP, and I loved all the memories and Dumbledore and Harry looking for the Horcruxes.

What's all the fuss about? Watch the films instead: that's enough. Only just OK for a quick skim through if there's nothing better on the shelf or in your bag: so much of this book is unnecessary and should've been consigned to any decent editor's bin.

But, one of the most profitable franchises in history, so what do I know? However, look at any chart - what does everyone else know?

Another brilliant installment from the Great JK Rowling !
Gets better with each book as we are led further into the wonderful world of magic ! Great to find out about the other Wizarding Schools of Beaubatons & Durmstrang and loved Viktor Krum !
