Another great book by JW, I got this the day it came out, and read it in two days. Very addicting and quite sad at times! Although some of the chracters seem like some in other books, I noticed there were some spelling mistakes too, but otherwise, good book and worth the read.

I remember when I first picked this up in my school library, having heard from others it was a good read. I didn't know at the time that it was to become one of my favourite books ever. By the time, I reached the end of it, tears were pouring like Niagra Falls (James Blunt on the radio didn't help either). No book had ever made me cry before as much as Noughts and Crosses and I believe that Malorie Blackman was trying to tell us all that, if it were the other way around for black and white people ... I thought that it was great that Jacqueline Wilson tackled disability issues however the story was very short especially the ending where all the revelation happens. The story should have been extended so that we could have seen what else happened. It is such a short story that it can be read in like an hour. This book is suitable for junior children and young teenagers.

Stone Cold: A good story...
in fact, two stories are interwoven until the two become one. The one story is told by Link, a boy who becomes homeless, the other is told by Shelter, a serial killer...
The book is a real page turner and really draws you in. I couldn't put it down and had to find out what was happing to these children who mysteriously disappear, and what would happen to Link. At a certain point it becomes obvious that Link and Shelter's paths will cross but what will happen is the ... Read More:

This was given to us as a gift. One night, I sit down to read to my three children for bedtime story....I couldn't finish reading it-because I do NOT want my children to think it is okay to stalk people. to think that this mother in the book is sane and normal. She's NOT. I gave this to our son's psycharatrist (who diagnosed his Aspergers) and she came back later to say the book is awful, that she too agreed (as did her older daughter and a colleague) it's an inappropriate book. I often see 'bad literature' in ... Read More:

This is my all time favourite book and Jacqueline Wilson is my best author. I have read many of her books and have enjoyed all of them. Candyfloss is very good and is all about a little girl called Floss who doesn't want to go to Australia with her mum and Steve. But she decides to go and live with her dad instead. What will happen to Floss and her dad when they get chucked out of the cafe?
To find out you will have to read this book!!!!!!!!!

As I was reading this book I got the impression it was written for children, but it would have been an insult to even a young child.
There was no depth to the characters for you to feel sympathy for them. It was also not at all related to the real world of refugee's and prejudices.
Sorry, It could have been a really good story, and did get my full attention in the opening chapter, but lost it's way in the telling.

I thought that this was a real good book however the main character was yet again another young girl (who again turns out to be described as a skinny tall girl who's not very popular) who seems too young to have the role she has. You just can't wait to find out what happens next but some of the things that happen in this story sound a bit unrealistic. I wasn't very happy with the ending either, everything happened so qick so it was very short and you would have expected more things to happen to make the story sound ... Read More:

This was a very interesting book. Again the ending was very very short because you would have expected more things to happen but I thought this book had a very good storyline. It was yet again based on a teenage girl who looks like she still goes to primary school and can't help think where and who her mother is. On her birthday she decides to take a little adventure and goes to revisit her past. Good story but could have been better.

An excellent little book that helped my then 3yr old understand what had happened. The notion of a 'soul' is touched on but not dwelt on. Mainly the book helped open up lines of communication and allow the discussion of a difficult theme, at a very difficult time. Very useful pre-funeral as it has clear drawings of coffins, pallbearers etc. so I could try to prepare her a little for the day itself as well as it helping to prompt discussion of the day afterwards. The fact that different cultures have various ways of dealing with ... Read More:
