My father used to read me the chronicals of narnia when i was about 5. I'd put the stories, however to the back of my mind, like most of us do when we leave our childhood behind. Then a couple of years ago when the lion, the witch and the wardrobe film was released, it set off thinking about those times, years ago. This year, with prince caspian due to arrive in the next week or so, i happened to mention to my girlfriend, sort of 'jokingly' that it might be fun to re-read the books again. Anyway, ... Read More:

Having seen the cartoon film as a child and then the live action I and loving them both I thought as an adult I should now read the book and its brilliant. It has elememts that are not transferable to the screen and even knowing the story inside out I was still excited by it. It was slightly embarrasing reading a book on the tube with pictures in it but I can assure you this book is worth any amount of embarresment. One of the greatest books of all time!

This is the fist set of books that I bought from the Narnia Chronicles, and what a perfect way to do it, all 7 in one! C.S.Lewis is a fantasic author and I will never tire of reading these books over and over again. Although I have done that already and I plan to keep on doing it.

Well , what can i say ? It is one of the best books I ever read as a child . It grasps the childs imagination by taking these four brothers and sisters into the magical land of Narnia where anything can happen. It is designed for early teenagers alough I read it when I was twelve and I read it for 10 hours on a sunday afternoon from the begginning to the end. C.S Lewis described the characters very well like Edmund was very selfish and how Lucy was so kind hearted . It also describes brillantly how no body believed ... Read More:

Dr. James Harrison, FRS, MP, D.Phil, OBE, writer of The Life Cycle of a British Beetle is a pirate of the Seven Seas, first conqueror of the earth's highest peak, captain of a World-Cup-winning football team and professional hole-digger. In short, he is a normal boy. And if in his made-up adventures windows get broken, cups shatter and his arm gets stuck in a grate - well that's not really his fault, is it? No matter what his father, mother and, sigh, sister think.

After moving into an old house, James discovers ... Read More:

The third book in the Chronicles of Narnia (or the fifth if you're reading them in chronological order), is a rather unusual book within the context of the series, considering the good-against-evil theme that permeates the other six books in the series is largely absent here. Of course there are dangers and trials, as well as personal conflict that need to be resolved, but because there is no central villain nor any fundamental evil that needs to be defeated, "The Voyage of the Dawn Treader" is more thoughtful, more carefully paced, ... I've read all of the kevin and Sadie serise multiple times and I a always getting my friends to read them too.Even if you know what happens at the end of the book they are still woth reading. The books may be fairly out of date but they are my ultimate no.1! I would definatly recommend them and Joan Lingard. I have barly been able to put them down to write a review!

I have been reading the Narnia books to my son, now aged eight, and "Prince Caspian" was a book we both enjoyed very much. For my son, the return of the four children, the exciting story and the humour of some of the new characters, particularly Reepicheep, the courageous mouse, were the high points. I do have to say, however, that there were some aspects of the storyline (particularly those related or explained by one of the characters) that he didn't quite comprehend on first reading, so we had to go through those again! It was also disappointing for him that ... Read More:

This is probably my favourite of the Narnia books, because nearly everything goes wrong. It starts with Jill crying in the shrubbery because she's being bullied; then Jill and Eustace go on the run from said bullies; even when they get to Narnia, the situation doesn't improve.

Unlike "Voyage of the Dawntreader", where Lucy, Edmund and Eustace were given a royal welcome and found themselves in a safe environment, "Silver Chair" harks back to "Prince Caspian". Just as the Pevensie children found themselves legends and unsupported in a land torn apart by civil war, Jill ... Read More:
