We bought this book because somebody has recommened it to me but I thought it would be to old for my daughter, 7months when we bought it. She LOVES it. I could read to her all day and am sure it will be a fav for many years.

This book is brilliant - loads of repetition and really shows the different relationships the baby has with his family. I've read this book to my son loads of times and each time it's a pleasure to read and we've both got smiles on our faces when the books finished.

My three-year old son just got this for his birthday, he already loved the story but wants to play the board game every day (over and over if I let him!). As some body else said - you can choose to play with colours or numbers so it is suitable for young children and great for learning colours. Also my son gets very exited watching the DVD and likes to read the book along with it, which I think is helping him with early reading skills. My wee boy (2 yrs) and I love to read this at bed-time. The rhythm of the text goes along very nicely, and is simple enough for a toddler to follow along with the lovely pictures (reminiscent of his other favourite, 'We're Going on a Bear Hunt'). It reminds me of George Orwell, for obvious reasons, and tells a nice story of the fat farmer being evicted to make way for the animals - two legs bad!!!
