I have always loved the Ahlberg's books but this one is my absolute favourite. The wonderful and humorous
illustrations are matched perfectly by the funny rhyming story and combine to create a cosy little world to get lost in. My 2
and 4 years old children can't get enough of this book. A true classic.

"Sometimes I feel happy ...sometimes I feel sad...." Your child can turn the wheel to reviel a happy then sad face. It goes one like this exploring our differences and our differing feelings. Very well drawn pictures + lots to pull/lift/turn on the pages. The last page has a feeling wheel with about 12 feelings...in its centre is an arrow that you can spin around. My 3 year old loves this book & it is very much suitable for much older children.

Julia Donaldson has a real flair for rhythms and rhymes and every book we own of hers our 2.5 year old son just adores. Nick Sharratt's illustrations are so colourful and charming that it is a joy to read this book every day which our son insists on every bedtime. I can't recommend it higher...it's just so good. My daughter is two and a half and loves princesses. I am grateful for books like this that offer an alternative to the Disney princesses. The story is wonderful and keeps your attention at every page. I absolutely love that it incorporates teaching days of the week and colors. It is beautifully illustrated full of glitter and fun for both of us to read!

My wife bought this book for my daughter who was 3 when her Grandmother died. In the book Badger is old and infirm and frankly suffering. His death is a release and, for him, a relief. Although her Grandmother had been quite ill before she died, my daughter never saw her suffer. Her Grandmother is simply 'gone'. She still asks to go & visit her in the hospital. We bought this book, published in 1971, when our 30 year-old was just 3 and it proved an enduring favourite for the whole family. It is one of the few books which our children insisted that we kept, even now, and one which we still catch them smiling at in their postgraduate gainfully employed maturity. The DVD might be good but little children deserve the fun of reading the book first with a grown-up to help them notice the delightful humour in the drawings. Don't hesitate - just buy it and enjoy it!

This is quite possibly the most meticulously detailed and expertly crafted pop-up book I have ever seen. It is my daughter's "special book" and can only be browsed with Mummy or Daddy at her side - basically because it is an absolute masterpiece, plus it delights both adults and children alike. Though the story is obviously abridged, it is still very detailed and makes the ultimate bedtime story - a page a night perhaps.
