The Puffin Book of Five-minute Stories Best Selling > Books > Ages 0-2 by: Perrault, Margaret Mahy, Allan Ahlberg, Dick King-Smith, Adele Geras, Vivian French, et al September 24, 1998 I bought this book for my two boys who are six and seven years old, it looked great to me. Unfortunately after reading a few of the stories my boys said the book was just plain boring! Maybe it would be better suited for girls??? there are so many lovely books out there and I liked the idea of having lots of different stories all in one book, but it didn't work this time !!! |

I'm a huge fan of Donaldson/Scheffler books, but this one isn't much fun to read aloud - for me! my daughter thinks it's great. She'd more or less memorised it in a couple of readings. I have already come to dread the repetition ('Come little monkey, come come come') and am frustrated by both the idiot butterfly and the ungrateful monkey.
