Flour Babies
Best Selling > Books > Ages 12-16
by: Anne Fine

April 07, 1994
Personally I think Flour Babies was proably one of the worst books by Anne Fine. I don't really understand what the main point of the book actually is. When I saw the play I thought it was great and thought the book would be the same but obviously I was wrong. I never really got into the book as I read more of the book.
The main character is Simon Martin. He is the new boy in 4c,the worst class in the school. When he and his class are sent home with these baby type things made with ''flour'' ... Read More:

The Himmler Brothers: A German Family History
Best Selling > Books > Ages 12-16
by: Katrin Himmler

June 20, 2008
Katrin Himmler has had the unfortunate experience of having Adolf Hitler's second in command, Heinrich Himmler as her Great Uncle. Throughout her life, her family have down-played the role of her own grandfather, Himmler's brother Ernst, who she was told, "went along with things" and was a very minor Nazi. However, over the last few years she has conducted an in-depth investigation into her family history, and the result is this excellent book.

Katrin Himmler begins by describing the childhood ... Read More:

The Key (Guardians of Time)

Marianne Curley has done it again!!
with yet another impeccable book, flawless!

The key is without doubt the best of the whole Guardians of Time series and an awesome end to it, but i wish there was more :(

I have one critisism and that is that there should be a chapter at the end to round up all the things that happend to the main charactors.
perhaps at the funeral of all that died that day or perhaps a school day in Matt's point of view going over the awful events in his head and ... Read More:

First I need to start off by saying that I am a big fan of the Asterix series. And I found these stories very entertaining. Though first published in English in 2003. This set of stories was originally published in French in 1996. And was a huge success.

The book contains fourteen tales, including: The day Asterix and Oblix were born; How Oblix goes back to school; Fashion in Ancient Gaul; How Dogmatix helps the village cockerel win a duel; How Dogmatix is adopted as a Roman mascot; Asterix as you have never seen ... Read More:

March 13, 2008
As soon as I heard about the book Jacky Daydream I longed to have it - for two reasons: one - I needed a good book to read and Jacqueline Wilson has never disappointed me and two, after all the books I'd read by her based on children with problems like their parents splitting up or their best friend moving away or their pets dying, I ached to know how Jacqueline Wilson grew up: had she suffered what many of her characters had suffered?

And Jacky Daydream had all the answers to my questions; it had everything from birth ... Read More:

This book is just fantastic. I have had such fun with my 4 year old. It is so much better than an ordinary colouring book making you use your imagination first then colouring in your creation! It is just so good and is ideal for a long journey or for taking on holiday or for just sitting in front of the fire for some quality time with your child.

Not being particularly strong in French, I searched around for some practice books, and recognising the publisher, I brought this one. I wasn't disapointed. The jokes, as in every other book in their series, are not very amusing, but everything was sorted acording to catorgory, and was layed out very simply. I was pleased to find there was practice in other parts of the language, not just verbs, which seem to feature most often in these kind of books. The only thing I would say is that I would recommend buying this with the 'GCSE ... Read More:

GCSE Biology Revision Guide
Best Selling > Books > Ages 12-16
by: Richard Parsons

January 05, 2007
I snoozed through year 10 and 11 Biology classes, learning very little. When it came to revising for my GCSEs, I used this book and got an A, and went on to get an A at Biology A-Level, which I would never have chosen if it weren't for this humble revision guide. It's written in a humourous, silly 'dad' style, but packs in an alarming amount of information and is very strict with its readers, using the good old "Now cover everything up and copy it out from memory" way of learning - which is the only thing that works, and isn't too hard taken ...
