I ordered this book for my son who is 5 and in-between picture books and older books that have 'no colour on them so they must be boring' books.
They really appealed to his sense of humour and had us roaring with laughter. Now he likes to read during the day as well as at bedtime and my husband and i fight over who is going to read to him. Hilarously funny and i reccommend them to any adult or child who enjoys a really good laugh.

I queued up for this book on the 15th of July 2005, and it was worth it. This book is definitely one of my favourite Harry Potters, along with COS, GOF and DH.
There was so much going on, unlike OOTP, and I loved all the memories and Dumbledore and Harry looking for the Horcruxes.

On the whole, the author has done a very good job of bringing together the plotlines from the previous books in the series. The ending is a little contrived, but that was to be expected. There are plenty of contrived sections and sub-plots in the previous books from the series - this is, after all, a fantasy for older children (adult readers often forget that), and it requires some leaps of faith to allow it to move on. It's not supposed to have a solid logical foundation.

What's all the fuss about? Watch the films instead: that's enough. Only just OK for a quick skim through if there's nothing better on the shelf or in your bag: so much of this book is unnecessary and should've been consigned to any decent editor's bin.

But, one of the most profitable franchises in history, so what do I know? However, look at any chart - what does everyone else know?

The True Story of the three little pigs was used greatly within my 1st year drama class at secondary school (Ages 11-12)and they loved it. I used the story as a context to do with stereotypes which lead on to many drama activities involving lawyers defending Mr Wolf, the pig community and witnesses of Mr Wolf. This lead on to a court case and even 't.v shows and documentaries' being created by the pupils to re-build or tarnish Mr Wolf's reputation!! An excellent story which created many meaningful, fun and diverse lessons!!
