I thought that this was a real good book however the main character was yet again another young girl (who again turns out to be described as a skinny tall girl who's not very popular) who seems too young to have the role she has. You just can't wait to find out what happens next but some of the things that happen in this story sound a bit unrealistic. I first read Anne of Green Gables at the age of 19, and within two weeks had bought the rest of the books in the series and read them all. I still re-read them at frequent intervals and I am now 38! I would recommend this and the other books to any child or adult.

Don't get me wrong this was a brillaint book but it was a let down at the end. Myself and my fiance thought it would of had a better ending to the series that it had I was "eh why is it ended here that's stupid" she could of left us all hanging on and then released a new book saying all that and going into a bit more detailk than she did after all that would of kept everyone on the edge of their seats and she would of been able to rethink the ending because some of the ending could have been forseen much earlier ... This is a wonderful adaptation. The acting is really great - the voices are perfect in my mind, particularly Lyra, Will, Mrs. Coulter, the gyptians... Lord Asriel's seems perhaps strange to start with, but before long he seems great for the job. I agree with the above that the adaptations could have merited from being a bit longer - but having read the books and then listened to these it's not actually that noticable. This is my all time favourite book and Jacqueline Wilson is my best author. I have read many of her books and have enjoyed all of them. Candyfloss is very good and is all about a little girl called Floss who doesn't want to go to Australia with her mum and Steve. But she decides to go and live with her dad instead. What will happen to Floss and her dad when they get chucked out of the cafe?
