Another great Alex Rider advneture.Its as good as Fledgling Jason Steed, better than the young James Bond books.
Anthony has now really got into the charater nad is producing some great story lines. I would expectto see some more films made from his books. This would be a box office hit.

Max is a hedgehog, he wants to go to the park but to do that he has to cross the road safely. One problem, the traffic is terrible! He sees humans cross over safe and sound so why can't hedgehogs? He tries lots of things and one time he does get badly hurt on his head and his bottom, which makes him talk strangely. He says things like "Something bot me on the hittom" or "Hip! Hip! Roohay!" Finally, Max finds a solution after a long time so he and his family can go to the park unharmed.

My 6 year old daughter was given the Malory Towers series. I didn't remember them from my own childhood and wasn't greatly looking forward to reading them - I thought they would be ridiculously old fashioned and badly written. I was wrong. Of course some of the language is a bit dated (things are "wizard" rather than "cool") but my daughter adores the stories and the characters and it doesn't matter that she'd never come across the concept of a boarding school or a governess before. Roald Dahl's voice is a delight. A refreshing change from the modern obsession for sound effects and other over-the-top techniques that, apparently, are added to capture a child's attention.

My two children listen to Dahl's audio CDs and read his books constantly. They enjoy many other styles of reading and story telling but I do believe Dahl has a special place in their hearts - and mine!

This has become one of my favourite books. I've always loved the "witches" series and the "nac mac feegle" who appear in Carpe Jugulum invaded my brain, kicked a few bottles around and dossed down.

This is, as others have said, the third in the "Tiffany Aching" series. I admit I enjoyed the first, wasn't too struck with the second (to start with), but with this one Pratchett is back to his best. It hooked me from the start.

My 2 year old loves this book especially as he can interact do the different noises on each page. We're now on our second copy as the original was so tatty and even his carer in nursery is finding it difficult to get him to read a different book in quite time.
