I was 'almost' put off this book by the first review as my 5 year old daughter is a 'girly girl' who loves pink and sparkly and unicorns too. I am so glad I went with the other reviews. This is the best activity/colouring book we have had...and trust me we have been through a lot! Yes we needed to help her with reading some of the ideas/instructions for a page, but once we did we were amazed at what she could come up with using her own imagination. Having seen the cartoon film as a child and then the live action I and loving them both I thought as an adult I should now read the book and its brilliant. It has elememts that are not transferable to the screen and even knowing the story inside out I was still excited by it. It was slightly embarrasing reading a book on the tube with pictures in it but I can assure you this book is worth any amount of embarresment. One of the greatest books of all time!

There is no doubt that Stephen Fry is entirely the MOST suitable person for the job of reading ANY story for an audio book. His voice is perfectly suited to story telling and he is able to define and animate the characters in his own colourful way. It's a good audio book and this is very much attributed to the talented Mr Fry.
