What Happens In Vegas [2008]

directed by: Tom Vaughan

Guys/Gals... my advice is to watch/buy something else ...

If you want guaranteed boredom then fine... ok well there were a few amusing bits but not many

All i can say is thank goodness DVD players have a timer that enables you to count down towards the end of a DVD.

I love Cameron Diaz.. she gorgeous, sassy and everything else and more, but this is not a great movie. Unfunny, un-romantic (if your'e looking for a romantic film) and pretty much un everything ... Read More:

directed by: Nancy Meyers

I usually like chick flicks, but this film was just too slow to hold my interest. Plus, it was cringeworthy and awkward to watch. On the whole, I admire Kate Winslet as an actress, but in this film, I just found her very annoying. I wouldn't recommend this to anyone...it gets two stars simply because its aesthetically pleasing...

Shrek The Third (Shrek 3)

starring: Mike Myers, Eddie Murphy, Cameron Diaz, Justin Timberlake, Seth Rogen

November 26, 2007
When you compare this film to shrek 1 and 2 it doesen't stand up as well, i did a bit of research and found out the director was a first timer, which is a classic Hollywood mistake, that i personaly find insulting. Why give a huge summer movie like shrek to a first time director? Clearly the first timer shows that he's not really up to the job, it is as if he missed the point of shrek completely. Where the first two shreks were kids films that parents could enjoy and laugh along with as well, its as if this ... Read More:

Fear And Loathing In Las Vegas [1998]

starring: Johnny Depp, Benicio Del Toro, Cameron Diaz, Christina Ricci, Gary Busey
directed by: Terry Gilliam

September 05, 2005
Before you watch this movie (and then dismiss it, as others have done, as incomprehensible and bizarre) you MUST either read or listen to the book or audio book.
Having done both, I can happily report that Terry Gilliam has done a first class job (with Hunter S Thompson's blessing) of creating this overlooked masterpiece. The lead roles of Duke (Johnny Depp) and Dr. Gonzo (Benicio del Toro) are expertly and accurately portrayed, much as I imagined they would be when reading the book.
Furthermore, the support ... Read More:

The Mask [1994]

starring: Jim Carrey, Peter Riegert, Peter Greene, Amy Yasbeck, Richard Jeni
directed by: Chuck Russell

July 18, 2005
This is Jim Carrey on top form: restrained but manic as Stanley Ipkiss, and totally unstoppable as The Mask, without being as sickening as he was in the second Ace Ventura film. The plot is fairly simple, and all the better for it. The bad guys are disposable but their presence is felt nonetheless. And Cameron Diaz (of whom I've never been a fan) is undeniably smoldering in her debut role. The one liners are zany, for lack of a better word, and for fans of cartoon humour this is a must.

Gangs of New York [2003]

starring: Daniel Day-Lewis, Leonardo DiCaprio, Cameron Diaz, Roger Ashton-Griffiths
directed by: Martin Scorsese

June 30, 2003
My main reason for wanting to see this film was because, after seeing 'The Deaprted' some weeks back I have now become a huge fan of DiCaprio's acting and heard from fans that this was one of his best performances. I'm a self-confessed very poor historian, so I knew very little about the civil war raging through America in the time this film was set (1860s I believe) and it was only afterwards I discovered that New York had in fact been ruled by gangs during this time period, riddled with violence and bloodshed.

I've heard lots of good reviews about this movie and decided to watch it. Of course, this is all a matter of opinion but this movie is seriously wierd (a characteristic I usually welcome) but it's greatest 'no-no' was lack of direction. After finishing the movie I was like 'what the hell was this'. It seriously felt like the creators of it were mocking you after having waisted over an hour of your precious time.
On a more objective note, the acting and direction were very good, it's the story that brings it down like a rock to the ... Read More:

There's Something About Mary [1998]

starring: Cameron Diaz, Matt Dillon, Ben Stiller, Lee Evans, Chris Elliott
directed by: Bobby Farrelly, Peter Farrelly

October 04, 1999
This is a very funny film with a number of excellent set pieces, such as the scenes with the dog and the police interrogation scene. It is not a film for the prudish, but the gross moments are very few, though well known.

It also features the beautiful Cameron Diaz and that is another majopr attraction of this film.

But there is also sympathy for the main character, her would be lover, a decent chap, and his difficulties before reaching his goal.

Matt Dillon as the sleazy PI is also on fine form.
