This was shown on a plane I was on - usually you watch the in-flight movie to the end as there's not all that much to do. With this one - I just couldn't. Sorry, might be ok if this is your first chick-flick ever (even for a chick movie it is dreadful) or if you're thirteen. This film is a funny, clever and very entertaining piece which is really made by the high quality of the acting and the excellent musical numbers. Amy Adams makes a perfect Disney princess and is supported by a super cast, each of whom makes their character believable. It's lovely from a romantic point of view but was also enjoyed by my ten year old sons who watched it a number of times (just don't tell their friends....)Highly recommended feel good fun.

I love this film i think it is brillant but i like musicals so i knew i properly enjoy this film. It is also really funny as well. John Travolta is really brillant in this film.

After such a long time away from the big screen and with no Christopher Reeve there was a chance this could have been a big disappointment- no chance! Every thing about the movie is good, the action scenes are as you would expect and demand from a Superman movie and the effects are fantastic. The script is also intelligent and in much the same style as the original movie, which means you are engaged throughout.

this film isn't exactly what i would call a real classic. sure, it has all the usual actors but it doen't any humourous moments, like some of the other films in the series. The ending is just plain embarissing. it made me cringe.
watch this if you a fan.
My son adores this film, i haven't discovered why yet but i've been watching him very closely and i think that some of the scenes are a little to saturating for him to handle.

X-Men could have been a bit of a disaster, it had brand recognition amongst the core sci-fi and superhero fan sets but as a concept was relatively unknown to Joe Public. The director, Bryan Singer, was best known for low budget movies and ensemble character pieces and the cast was (at the time) pretty bargain basement. As it was though it all worked out rather well.

I can't even list the faults with this film but any true Superman fan will see this is poor.

While Brandon Routh does a passable impression of Christopher Reeve, this is truly one of the most boring films I have ever seen - 150 minutes of nothing happening (ok you see him catch an airplane but that really is it). It takes a full 90 minutes of Superman floating about full of Lois angst before Lex Luther's evil plot kicks in and that is resolved remarkably quickly and easily, before the film returns to Boresville.
