That isnt a bad thing, but with 22 episodes to plough through, at least you have the luxury of skipping some of the weaker moments. I'll explain below. It loses a star simply cause most of season 1 isnt much cop, and admittedly (check out the extras), is self indulgent, which is reflected in sketches going on for far too long on many occasions. I loved the first ever series. I liked the sketch at the start when John Humphrys got killed by those big yellow bombs. I also Liked the wacky characters in this comedy like Rab C. Nesbitt, The Baldy Man, The OHBC Guy and Siadwel, the complete and utter bard from the Welsh Walleys. It is the best Scottish Comedy ever made. I recommend it 5 stars out of 5 because it is hilarious and it is a rib-tickling, Laughing-Loud Comedy. |

Melancholia [1989] starring: Jeroen Krabbé, Susannah York, Ulrich Wildgruber, Jane Gurnett, Kate Hardie directed by: Andi Engel August 10, 1992 This is quite an unusual film and not really my kind of thing. However the best part of the whole thing was Jane Gurnett's performance as the frightened widow of a Chilean victim. She was utterly convincing and made the whole thing worth watching. All in all, its quite a slow film with some subtitles - make your own decision on it. |
