Having only just watched this film for the first time last night I was intrigued to see what others had written about it because for me it was a real mixed bag. To my shame I didn't really know the story of Merlin and King Arthur etc so was interested to watch from a factual point of view and my toddler did get up in the middle of it all and wandered about making lots of noise so it was difficult to follow everything (must watch again) but the story was really really good, very gripping and some of the acting was excellent ... A lovely film with a great emotional impact.
The characters are brilliant to watch and Steve Martin is so funny. Diane Keaton is also a wonderful role-model for a mother.
I would recommend these films to anyone that loves the idea of a happy family.
