Good God! Russell Crow is one of my favorate actors, and I think this is his best film to date. With a superb supporting cast with the likes of Joaquin Phoenix, Oliver Reed, and Richard Harris. This is a tail of one mans quest to find the man who wronged him. Betrayed by his own emperor, the general turned slave turned gladiator must take on an empire to bring justice to his life.

I haven't seen this film for a few years when it was on TV late one night but I'm pleased that another DVD starring one of Britain's most underated actors is at last being released very soon. Yes I even watched the movies with commentary. I loved it. WOW! From the great Battles of the Roman Legions in Germania to Morocco and then Rome. What an Epic. I felt like I was there...And no where is their a part where you feel you want to pause the movie. It is a non-stop watcher. You must see this...
