directed by: Steven Spielberg

ok, so indiana jones and the kingdom and the kingdom of the crystal skull may not be up there with the likes of schindler's list. it won't win any major awards at the oscars or anything. but it is great fun. in other words, good old fashioned entertainment that should leave you with a great big silly grin after the film's finished.
great performances all the way, harrison ford still as good as ever as indy. but as much fun as this was, please no more. hate to say it, but harrison ford is getting ... Read More:

1986.. that version was much better than this! The transformers are american, the action scenes are american, the whole thing is american! Transfomers were brittish cars in the 1986 version! And the generation 1 series, nothing wrong with americanisum, just doesn't work with transformers!

This is a brilliant film suitable for kids familys and adults.
I read the book first then saw the film. I am currently reading the book 'small steps' which is a brilliant conclusion.
Louis Sachar is one of America's best writers I hope to read all of her novels.

The animation is incredible: the facial expressions, the body movement, the play of light, the attention to detail takes your breath away. Add to this a superb soundtrack, and you realise why it got such good critical reviews.

It is a traditional story, but has been told without so much of that awful syrup and candy so beloved by Disney and, I regret to say, Pixar. The mock 'reality program' slant was inspirational, as was the cutting forward to dialogue that explained events in the past. Sorry folks, ... Read More:

Disturbia [2007]

directed by: D.J. Caruso

First off, this is a well-made movie with a good script and cast. Shia LaBeouf is totally believable as the teenager trying to coping with the loss of his father and lead a normal life.

When he suspects his neighbour of being a serial killer, the momentum really picks up, with some great scenes of tension as he goes about trying to prove his theory. The character of Ronald, who is Kale's best friend, is one of the best sidekick characters I've seen for ages and helps the main characters coalesce.

Flashy, symbolic and quite powerful account of the 1913 U S Open where local amateur Francis Ouimet(Shia LeBeouf)goes head to head with Ted Ray(Stephen Marcus)and the legendary Harry Vardon(Stephen Dillane)for the title.
Written by Mark Frost(based on his excellent book of the same name),Bill Paxton(he also directed Frailty- a very under-rated horror film)imbues the proceedings with visual tricks worthy of a Fatboy Slim video and it works brilliantly.Golf has never been this kinetic on screen before.
Beautiful to look at with genuine ... Read More:

I had high expectations of this film. The blurb on the DVD compared it to Bronx Tale (one of my favourite films) and it had a number of high profile stars in the cast. I have to say I was disappointed. The story was patchy for the first hour of the film, and it was plain boring in parts. Another problem was the dialogue. English viewers may find they need to watch alot of it with subtitles because the accents of the actors are so thick! However, the film picked up in the second half and by the end, I was almost interested. If you haven't seen it ... Read More:

Disturbia really boasts a top cast and marks another fine acting performance from Shia LaBeouf (Transformers) but also stands out from the crowd thanks to the stunning presence of the relatively unknown actress Sarah Roemer who is gorgeous! The image transfer is of very high quality throughout with the opening scenes in the mountains really looking stunning in High Definition, almost 3D in depth and the sound is perfectly respectable too.
Underneath all this eye candy there lies a suberb teen thriller with plenty of shocks, including a very ... Read More:
