1986.. that version was much better than this! The transformers are american, the action scenes are american, the whole thing is american! Transfomers were brittish cars in the 1986 version! And the generation 1 series, nothing wrong with americanisum, just doesn't work with transformers!

This revenge film has a lot of action, attitude and good old fashioned destruction. Convincing performances and a real edge to some of the dialogue lift it up. This movie delivers well.

Only got this because it was cheap and I was curious to see how it compares to the (somewhat under-rated) original. Turns out its inferior in every way except for the scenery. The basic problem being the near-complete-absence of the factor that made the original worth watching - the flawed nature of all the protagonists and the consequent tensions between them.
Its as if the makers were terrified that if the central characters were less than heroic (not to mention buff and toned) a modern audience would lose interest. ... Read More:

Where do these producers get the money to make these awful cheesy movies and why is Tyrese trying to ruin his career.
I'm not trying to say that Tyrese is Oscar material but he put in a decent performance in 'Baby Boy' and in 'Transformers' which he was very funny in.

I am baffled how Meagan Good gets work because she is so type cast it is ridiculous, she always plays the skinny temptress with the big mouth. Watch some of her movies and see what i mean, she played the same character in 'Biker boys', Stomp the Yard' ... Read More:

'2 Fast 2 Furious' is a fairly predictable sequel, but it delivers on the bottom line -- you want great car chases, you got great car chases. It is also another fine HD DVD effort from Universal. An often stunning transfer, aggressive Dolby Digital-Plus surround track and plenty of extras make this one a nice upgrade over the standard-def DVD release. Though lacking a Dolby TrueHD track and any genuine HD bonus content, it will still give your HD DVD home theater a real workout.
