First of all, this is NOT an educational programme, no matter what parents would like to think. However, I don't really care if programmes are educational because it would be a bit embarrassing if I thought my kid should learn something from watching telly.

This video is absoultely fantastic! I have a six-month old daughter who loves the Fimbles - whatever she's playing with when they come on is forgotten, and she sits or lies on her playmat and watches, completely spellbound.
Particularly great is the fact that the same songs are sung each episode by the different characters ('When you take a look inside a book' and the 'Let's go and see' song), and I think this gives Emily something to recognise each time. She loves music, and this video certainly has ... Read More:

This one definetely a keeper. my 17 month old daughter just love it. it's the music she loves and she'll dance with the song keep her busy for half hour while I get some housework done.
Most songs she already know form her nursery rhyme cd only the words different but she like it just the same although the play part is difficult for one years old to understand but she does try to copy the words and say it lound. This is one of many Fimbles DVDs available, and this one is based around Rockit the Frog.

There are 3 episodes on this DVD, with intro, in-between bits and ending by Rockit. The three episodes are (without coming across too "Friends") - The one with Rockit the post frog, the one with "Baby Rockit", and the one where Rockitt wants to be a Fimble.

If your child likes Fimbles, this is fine to stick on when you want to get on with something for an hour.

I remember, not so long ago, watching this as a child every day... why they ever discontinued it is a mystery to me, it is much better than the tweeties/tellietubbies ever could be!!
The graphics and puppets, watching back, are not very realistic, but as a child i truly never noticed it. I once even saw it being filmed, and it didn't spoil it for me.

Playdays is pure gold which every generation should enjoy.

No matter how old (or young) you are put on this video make a cup of tea and share a big box of chocolates with your favourite youngster (my son in my case) and watch the story of Christmas and all the excitement of its preparations unfold. It might not quite have the same appeal watching it on a hot summers evening (are you listening my boy??) but snuggle up on a cold winters afternoon and you have some genuine Christmas magic.
