This is one of those dvds you can get out any time of year over and over again and it still appeals. Who would have thought combining a witch, a doctor and WWII would create such wonder.

The characters created by Angela Lansbury (Miss Price the good witch) and David Thomlinson (Dr Amelius Brown)are wonderful and the combination of settings, singing, dancing and animation are very well balanced. Our whole family love this film.

In addition to all the positive things about this DVD I would just also like to mention two drawbacks:
1.) If you don't like the Walt Disney singing parades, this is a no for I'm afraid it contains quite a few
2.) The stories do NOT come to a natural and obvious end but rather one leads on to the other so you do have the debate as to whether the child may not watch a little more ...and just another little more ...

while the first national treasure was what i would describe as a bank holiday film,the ones that you carnt be bothered to switch over because you have had too much pie, this travesty of a film only engages you on the level that you keep watching to see if it could be anymore worse which it does in spades. i am glad i never bought it only rented, but then again i wish i could have my rental fee. The real shame of the film is that it has an inpressive list of actors who should sack their agents immediatly for signing them up to this bag of dingo's droppings

This movie is so iconic it is deeply ingrained in our culture. As a little girl, and as an adult too, we all want a magical pair of "Dorothy" shoes. The movie's message is very simple; there's no place like home. The magical world of Oz is in technicolor whereas the scenes in Kansas are in black and white. This helps to show how enticing Oz is. I loved The Rescuers as a child, it was my favourite Disney movie. I bought it on dvd for my son two weeks ago(he's 3) and Its still a hit!! By far one of the best Disney films ever made. They just dont make them like this anymore.

I just watched this the other day, for old times sake. It was brilliant - better than I remembered. Whoever said that you can outgrow disney couldn't have been more wrong. I laughed and laughed along with my friend, and even if we were laughing at new found jokes, it didn't matter. It's definately worth buying. But if you're older, watch it with a friend to make it more enjoyable.
