Return of the Jedi was my favourite film as a kid growing up when there was only the original trilogy and with the Star Wars saga now complete it still remains my favourite. I think most people have seen the film and already know whether they like it or not when considering buying this DVD. So I'll talk specifically about this DVD.

The film has been restored beyond its original brilliance. If you pay close attention, particularly at a still-frame, you will realize that what Disney means by this is that they didn;t really restore it but just went ahead and rapaint every single frame digitally. This is one of those dvds you can get out any time of year over and over again and it still appeals. Who would have thought combining a witch, a doctor and WWII would create such wonder.

The characters created by Angela Lansbury (Miss Price the good witch) and David Thomlinson (Dr Amelius Brown)are wonderful and the combination of settings, singing, dancing and animation are very well balanced. Our whole family love this film.

These days I refuse to watch most CGI movies, mainly because they can run them off a mill as many times a year as they want. For me, Toy Story 2 represents the pinnacle of Computer based films. Touching, funny, and even better looking than its predecessor, this is easily one of the greats from Pixar. I say this now because with such average attempts over the recent years such as Antz, Madagascar, and Cars, the 90's proved that its better to wait 3/4 years for a film that's quality, rather than a glut of lame attempts to cash in.
