We have to bear in mind this movie was first made in the 1980`s and cannot be judged along with disney of today. It is indeed a brilliant and engrossing movie, still loved by children - but it seems, judged too harshly by adults who clearly expect `more` these days. The 6 year old i bought it for absolutely loves it and watches it over and over..

I really enjoyed this film even though it didn't completely satistfy my Ghibli craving.

I found it slightly odd that all the characters seemed to live in an oriental world but they themselves looked western. Also, one of the things i love about Ghibli films is to watch how other cultures live, even down to how they eat and sleep. Unfortunately this film didn't really have any of this, they did eat and drink things but they seemed westernised.

Another Harry Potter film and just like the first 2 films this is an enjoyable film whilst being nothing special. In fact this is a little better than the its two prequels which is a reason I enjoyed it more. The story is getting darker, the young actors are getting better and this movie sucked me in more than the other two did. Actually this is an enjoyable enough movie for those who love Glenn Close or Ioan Gruffudd, and there are lots of fun elements to enjoy. The parrot who thinks he is a dog is an absolute scream, and the film itself is well made and well shot in my opinion. There is nothing really wrong with it except for the story itself. I can't even fault the script really...I think they did the best they could under the circumstances, and the actors all came up trumps...but as I say it's the story that lets the whole thing down.

Think this has been covered in another review, but between series 3 and series 4 there are two christmas specials available on import from the netherlands. The 1983 special has everybody coming back together at skeldale after the war. The 1985 special Tristan is working for the ministry of agricultre, Seigfried has moved out but still works with James. Not only is this a hilarious film, it's clever. Anyone who didn't like it probably didn't get the insider jokes e.g. Elixire Pour Olympiques, commonly known as EPO; the streamlined red chariot driven by Michael Schaumacher; the invention of the air-filled ball that you can kick into a fish net ("That idea will never catch on.") and a very insider joke for Spanish audiences - the princess's headgear was based on that of La Dama de Elche (a famous ancient statue.) The Lion King is my all time favourite disney film, i just love the story the music and the way it all comes together. I have watched this film countless times and still want to watch it again. Our son borrowed this DVD and loved it so much that he wanted his own copy. Wasn't sure how long he would enjoy it when we bought it but it has been worth every penny and then more. Since then, I've lost count of the number of times he and friends have watched it.

They all love the story, the comic one-liners and the music.
