My 2 yr old daughter had this for her Christmas eve pressi and the whole family sat down to watch it ... We felt very disappointed that only the 1st episode was Christmas themed and the other two were just nice episodes. Pity. They missed their chance to put an awesome DVD together. BUT, the Christmas episode is really good!

Upto now I have quietly enjoyed the first 3 movies although they were nothing special. In previous reviews I gave all of them 3/5 and to be honest up until the final 20 minutes I was about to award the same for 'the Goblet of Fire'. The finale' certainly makes this film and we see Lord Voldermort at his evil best. I never got to the cinema much as a child and could count on one hand how many times I went, but I do remember out of all of them, The Secret Garden moved me the most. As an adult, I rarely watch TV or films and have a low boredom threshold, but I can watch this film over and over and cry every time. Mary Lennox is played superbly by Polly Maberly and the film is one of those rare gems that is truly as good as the book.

I too thought I had a slightly dodgy copy seeing some picture wobble, but I can see from other reviews I'm not alone. That said I would buy it again just as it is, my favourite is good old Windy Miller. I forgot that its not like Postman Pat's more modern animation silly me it was 1966 after all. For the moment my 2 year old daughter prefers Postman Pat, Bob, Sam and the Little Red Tractor but it was as much for me as my kids and I am not disappointed. I have had the great fortune of watching both at a young age - the balloon story is beautifully done (as is the white mane) and very thought provoking. I will not spoil the story of the balloon but will say that the tender age of about 12 i had to go through quite a few tissues at the end.
