Having first seen Trumpton over 30 years ago I sat and watched this DVD with my 10 year old. We had a lot of laughs and it brought back a lot of memories for me. Trumpton feels timeless and although old does not seem dated. The DVD contains a small section on how Trumpton was made, click by click! This was fascinating. I'm looking forward to sharing this with younger members of the family. I have also ordered Bod and Mr Benn so hope these too stir up the same emotions!

I resisted going to see this film at the cinema as it didn't seem like my cup of tea. But after a colleague kept going on about how great it was, I gave in and watched it. I wish I hadn't bothered. I really cannot see what all the fuss is about. Now, if you've read any other DVD reviews of mine, you'll know I do like superhero films, sci-fi films etc. But Transformers really left me cold. Never read the books so I came with an open mind when watching this film. Like the book, the film is for children but can be enjoyed by adults.

Unfortuneatly this came out at the same time as the excellent 'Lord of the Rings' and it cant really compare with Tolkiens classic (same with the books really) but you can enjoy it on its own merit, especially if you havnt bother reading the novel first. My MP Ann Cryer is in this film as an extra.

One of the best childrens films ever made in the UK. Jenny Agutter recently made another version ( her third; she was in the BBC serial of the same book prior to this version) this time playing the mother. However it was not as good and lacked the charm of Lionel Jeffries version.

A must for lovers of trains and Yorkshire.

Recently at the school I work at they had this as their home-time story, which led me - a life-long Dahl fan - to re-read both The Witches and Matilda, my favourite Dahl books (as well as Danny the Champion of the World), and rent the movies.

All of these films are absolutely magnificent in their own way. A truly great purchase if you don't already have them on DVD. I had all but 3 of these films on DVD, so decided to sell the ones I had and buy this. Only things is, the Monsters INC and Toy Story 1 films in this Box Set are 4:3 as opposed to 16:9, unlike my previous versions - so a bit annoyed about that. Otherwise, this is an excellent purchase. 8 quality films for £45 is amazing value and well worth the investment.
