Never read the books so I came with an open mind when watching this film. Like the book, the film is for children but can be enjoyed by adults.

Unfortuneatly this came out at the same time as the excellent 'Lord of the Rings' and it cant really compare with Tolkiens classic (same with the books really) but you can enjoy it on its own merit, especially if you havnt bother reading the novel first. If you have, then it could be an up hill struggle. However, the acting and the characters ... Read More:

I have loved this film since I first saw it as a child. The sense of menace and foreboding which hangs over it is truly disturbing, as are the flashes of savage violence. The 'Bright Eyes' moment about half way through turns the supposed death of Hazel into one of the most moving moments in cinema history, and the 'Black Rabbit of Inle' ending is hardly less moving.

Bigwig, Hazel and Fiver are brought to life with a huge amount of warmth and 'humanity'. Before reading the book I always thought ... Read More:

I was looking for the theme tunes for the Trumpton, Chigley and Camberwick programmes, when I stumbled on this little gem!

After watching the first few episodes I happened to mention to my brother about buying and watching them, and now I have been requested to buy a set for him too!

A wonderful reminiscence about such a beautiful little world! I'm glad I went hunting around Amazon that day.

A man, who has spent his whole life being raised by gorillas, must discover who he is and where he belongs when humans visit the jungle where he lives.

In perhaps one of the most underappreciated Disney films of the 90's, viewers are given an insight into the life of a man who must question who and what he is in the face of danger and humanity. The plot is a very romantic tale about the human spirit and has a very intriguing point of view upon humans, who are again in the darkness as villains in this Disney ... Read More:

This excellent production truly captures the spirit of a Dickens classic. And it's WAY ahead of its time for 1946! Long movies were expensive to make in those days yet this adaptation runs to almost 2 hours.

The orphan Philip Pirrip - or "Pip" - lives with his violent, merciless sister and his kindly though unrefined brother-in-law Joe, a blacksmith. On visiting his parents' grave one night Pip has a chance meeting with an escaped convict called Magwitch, who bullies the child into stealing him some food. He also visits ... Read More:

This film has a very similar feel to the first movie. It moves at a similar pace and the story is just as mediocre. Its not a bad film by any stretch of the imagination, in fact, when in a certain mood I can happily watch this movie and enjoy it. However, just like the first film, it is nothing special but just about keeps you interested enough to watch the next installment. I like fantasy and escapism movies and although this is not as good as the 'Lord of the Rings' trilogy or as funny as 'stardust' ... it is still better than others such ... Read More:

Chitty Chitty Bang Bang [1968] 'Chitty Chitty Bang Bang' is my second favourite after 'The Wizard Of Oz'.'Chitty' stars Dick Van Dyke,Sally Ann Howes,Lionel Jeffries,James Robertson Justice and Robert Helpmann.Though this release onto DVD is the Full Screen version of this film i personally prefere it due to the fact this is a wonderful transfere to Disc, with it's lovely deep colours and so beautifully restored it looks like a modern film.Dick Van Dyke is superb as the children's father and transforms a run down car which turns out to be able to float ... I was first introduced to this film as a child and have recently rediscovered it at age 23. I still love it. Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker and Kathy Najimy are so hilarious as the evil Sanderson sisters and the musical numbers are fab. I agree there should be a soundtrack.

Definately one to watch, kids will love it, I put it on for my younger brother and he loved it. The only thing that creeped him out was the talking cat, think Salem from Sabrina the Teenage Witch. This cat is Sarcastic, dry and ultmately hilarious.

Give it a go people. Bette ... Read More:
