I loved this film almost as much as my children.
It is without doubt the best kids film ever made.
I loved Shrek and Small Soldiers , but and my kids say TOPY STORY is Number One.

Book 5 of the Potter series is rather gloomy. Harry is feeling alienated, nightmarish and insecure, and Voldemort is rising in power. However, what worked extremely well for the book, works a bit against the film. A film is a different means of communication from a book and to strive to follow the book too closely is to do an injustice to both.

All of the movies released so far are excellent. I see that other reviewers have covered the story line very well, so I will not. Just let me say that all are very well done, with minor imperfections. The main problems are only two. The first problem is that the books are so massive that pieces have to be left out, this is a shame but I do think that to make a 4 hour movie of these books would make them very tiring to sit through. This film truley is amazing, i love how Tom starts out seemingly old and grumpy but this young boy turns him in to a big softie really :P . As an expatriot Briton living in the US I am constantly baffled by DVD manufacturers' insistence on producing kids TV titles in region 2 format (so that they can only be viewed on region 2 DVD players). My daughter is 2 and had all the baby einsteins from birth, this is even better, she loves it, i love that the cartoon characters walk and fly around real video sceans around the world, visit famous landmarks, learn about listening to music, really worth the money, then they learn loads instead of just watching baby like storys

For 1,5 year now we have this dvd and still isn't boring at all.Not for my 3,5 year old or for us.I love the voices!!What a gift to be able to tell a story with just enough words and drawings.Story's with humor and tenderness.
Very practical because there many short story's so you can decide how long your child can watch.

Other reviews will no doubt warn you about the quality (or lack thereof), I feel obligated - as a Brit - to warn you about the voices: this is the American cut of the film. These films are dubbed for the American market, and I'm sure many American Citizens are overjoyed by their favourite films being collected in this actually not-bad box set...
