I can't believe I bought this. When I first heard the Ting Ting's I thought they were dreadful. It sounded like really naff cheesy pop. And it is, but it's also very catchy and I have to admit I like it. The more I hear it the more it grows on me. It's not cool to like it, but that doesn't mean it's not okay to like it. It's just probably best not to admit it to people when you first meet them. That's Not My Name is probably the best pop tune of the year for me.

When you open the inner sleeve to `Dear Science' you are presented with a picture of the band standing moodily in a science lab. I had to stifle a laugh - `these guys are making it too easy for me'. A deeply disappointing combination of insistently repetitive and lazily unimaginative "tunes" with unremarkable lyrics, this has little or none of the humour, inventiveness and poetry of Original Pirate Material... This sounds more like the end of the road for the Streets than any kind of 'return to form' that the industry puff might try to lead you to believe.

It's a brave band that tries to recreate that mid-90s indie sound. Infact, if you think back to recent years, most bands would rather hark back to the 80s, so when Alphabeat came along, basically trying to reproduce the feel of 90s Scandanavian indie (which let's face it, gave us brilliant bands like the Wannadies and the Cardigans), I have to admit I was very excited.

If Ms Furler's biographical material contained in her MySpace domain is to be correctly

On hearing "When I grow up" I couldnt wait for their new CD to be released and even pre-ordered it, however on receiving the same I am very disappointed. The only track worth its PCD weight is track 1 and thats "When I Grow up". Wish I had just bought the single now

Overall I'm not impressed by this album. She is 50 and this cd is as embarrassing as Prince Charles wearing baseball caps backwards and trying to speak like a rude-boi. She should take a cue from U2 who gave up trying to be whacky after their Zooropa and Pop cds; went back to their roots and quite frankly sounded much better. She can do a brilliant ballard, why doesn't she include some of those and leave the rnb for the hoody wearing teenagers.

Lyrics that make 'Firestarter' sound like a deep statement...check.

The thing is - occasionally we all like to inflict a little pain on ourselves and I can't believe I'm saying this... 'In Silico' can be quite a fun listen sometimes.

Let me just start by saying i like Chicane. The album far from the maddening crowds wasn't a let down when i bought it after hearing and falling in love with Offshore (all those years ago!). Behind the sun was an amazing follow up album too and both have been in my favourites ever since. But Nicks later stuff didn't quite reach the same standard as far as i'm concerned. Then i saw this best of album coming out and i was interested to see what tracks would be chosen.
