This is one of those discs that has had a long life in my house - I first had the soundtrack of Star Wars on cassette tape, then when that broke (from being overplayed), I got the vinyl version (so I could re-record the tracks in a better order). When that record set got worn and poppy, I got the CD, and then when this special edition came out, I got it too. So, I guess one could say that this is a perennial favourite.

A friend introduced me to this CD while we were out auditioning a sub-bass system (subwoofer). This is an excellent CD for two reasons.

Not only do I like the music (Introduction to "Also Sprach Zarathustra" and music from Star Trek, Star Wars, and Alien amongst others), but the Telarc label apparently craft their CD's in an "uncompressed" format, as I understand it. So if your speakers are capable of it, you can hear the full 20Hz to 20kHz range of sound (and if you can't hear that low, and have a subwoofer, you can at ... Read More:
