I have to admit that I found this rather fun. I bought it for my little girl, who has outgrown her duplo bricks. You can make allsorts with it (literally, if you are that way inclined!) and it also comes with a guide to a load of suggested models.

I ignored the guide book and built my girl a car. You get a few wheels etc so it can actually be pushed around. I wish my parents had got me this sort of stuff when I was a kid. I got handmedowns though, with all the good pieces already lost.

This is an excellent educational robot. You can make many autonomous or remote robotic devices. Spares and more parts and sensors are easily available and include third party support, or make your own. There are many programming environments for the nxt, all easily available. Much web support too. Great for experienced and new programmers. All in all superb value.

This awesome starfighter is the very first to be modelled on a video game. This is an absoulute must for all those darkside lovers out there, coming with a cannon, two flick missile launchers and three exclusive minifigures inclding: Darth Vader (battle damaged), Juno Eclipse and Darth Vader's apprentice. This set takes roughly 2 hours to build but is realy worth it. Have fun exterminating Jedi.

Lego kick off their 2008 releases from The Clone Wars movie with the excellent Republic Attack Gunship. These were also seen in Attack Of The Clones but this kit has been updated from the original #7163 Republic Gunship from 2002 with better construction, nicer detailing, more features and a more accurate colour scheme.
