The words to the story are a little dull but we make up our own story that works with the pictures and matches our own bedtime routine. My daugther loves saying hello to each of Maisy's friends as they are playing in the garden then waving goodbye to them all. This is a fabulous package. The rucksack is clear so as to be able to see the contents and fastens with velcro - easy for little fingers to open and close!! The book is classic Maisy - with a simple, uncomplicated story and big, bright pictures to keep fans entertained. Talula is the only visitor Maisy has though in this story, so if your tot is a fan of one of the other characters, maybe another story would be a better choice. I have read this every night solid for about a month - and a few days as well. The thing about Maisy books is that the colours and pictures are so vibrant that little kids just love them. My 2 and half year old son adores maisy and thinks eddie is sooooo coool - but if I have to read it tomorrow night again I might just scream......but then again there is maisys fire engine, train.....perhaps we could get maisy to run network rail...

This bright and colorful book (like all Maisy stories by Lucy Cousins) keeps my 22-months old daughter very interested almost every night. All the Maisy books we own are favorites (of hers and of my husband and myself!). "Maisy dresses up" is a good addition to "our" Maisy family!

My 19 month old granddaughter loved this Maisie dvd immediately, and its use of colours and numbers is gently educational too. The little stories about everyday things balance repetitiveness and variety and the story line holds her attention. "In the Night Garden" (too long, too slow, too repetitive) doesn't seem to hold her attention for long, despite the hundreds of thousands of pounds that have been spent on making it.
