This book is exactly what we needed! My 8-year-old daughter and I just finished reading it together and it was a perfect way to introduce her to puberty and all it entails. It is written for young girls in a way that doesn't talk down to them but is also completely appropriate for girls 8 and up. I appreciated the discussions about the emotions and difficulties girls face during puberty, beyond just the "facts." My thanks to the authors! I will be recommending this to all of my mom friends who have girls.

My son loved this book. My son has ADHD and it is torture for me to get him to sit still and read or do homework. I purchased this book on a whim and hoped he would at least look at it. My son is 8 1/2 and blew through this book in 3 weeks, I bought the second one and he read that one in less than a week1!

Jeff Kinney's "Diary of a Wimpy Kid"-series are an excellent way to "trick" people into becoming readers. The books read fast, they're very funny (sometimes laugh out loud funny), the pictures liven up every page, and they can appeal to a wide age group.

Adults will read the books and fondly remember similar adventures of their youth. Children and teens can read them to laugh at the misadventures of our "hero"...who's equal parts wimp and miscreant.

Theme - a utopian society will always be relevant and always be thought provoking. Especially when its well written like The Giver is. I find the theme to be incredibly interesting, especially since I have only ever read one other similar novel which was 1984.

Size and syle - It was short, very easy to read and follow. The thing I liked about it is that even though its technically a young adult novel, it can be read by all ages.

Every few years I read this book over and love it every time. It is a great book to introduce kids to the plight of the Jews and non-Jews of German-occupied countries during WWII. My 10 year old read it and loved it too and it brought up a lot of questions. Highly recommended.

We didn't like this book. It wasn't about a museum at all; it was about getting motion-sickness on a bus trip. On the way to the museum for the class trip, Nancy's friend is feeling sick. Later during the trip, Nancy feels sick. They pull over to the side of the road and an adult helps Nancy while she's throwing up. Her clothes get messed up and she has to wear something else for the rest of the trip. We all felt a little sick after reading the book. Yuk.
